Vintage Document; Proclamation dating 1826 in the British Colony of Mauritius Island - King Georges IV Proclamation - Sir G. Lowry Cole, Governor of the Island, had decreed a free pardon and liberty for five French slaves and one civilian. Published at Port-Louis, Island of Mauritius, 12th August 1826. Clear dated paper with maker/watermark: W & F. Fincher 1825. Overall good condition, except few tears and one corner missing top left. Unusual and extremely Rare document about slavery in in The Colonial Era.
