French Colonial Issue Playing Card Money, 18th century - Jack of Spades - Exceptional and Extremely Rare example - in the 1700's and issued to the French Army Good for Two Rations of Meat 'Infanterie/ Viande/ Deux Rations'with a cancellation overprint: 'controlle' (controlled). Signed by card maker and printer: J. Joseph Revest. Apart from the Canada Card Money, this should be considered amongst the Rarest of types handled by us. Nice above average example with circulation wear, two small pin holes.
