Hadrian. AD 117-138. Æ Sestertius (32mm, 25.28 g, 12h). "Travel series" issue. Rome mint. Group 10, circa AD 130-133. Laureate and draped bust right / [EXERCITVS], [M]AVRETANICVS/ S C in two lines in exergue, Hadrian on horseback riding right, raising right hand in gesture of address; to right, three soldiers standing left, each carrying a signum. RIC II.3 1942 var. (third soldier carrying a spear); RIC II 924 var. (same); Banti 276 var. (same). Brown and green patina, some earthen deposits and roughness. Good Fine. Rare variety of a rare type, with the third soldier carrying a signum instead of a spear.
