IONIA. Ephesos. Circa 180-67 BC. Cistophorus (Silver, 25 mm, 12.31 g, 12 h), CY 45 = 90/89. Cista mystica from which snake coils; around, ivy wreath with fruits. Rev. Two snakes coiled around a bow case; above, serpent-entwined staff; to left, ME above ΕΦΕ; to right, torch. Kleiner 46. SNG Copenhagen 326. The obverse struck somewhat off center and with deposits, otherwise, very fine.
