SATRAPS OF CARIA. Pixodaros, circa 341/0-336/5 BC. Didrachm (Silver, 20 mm, 6.90 g, 1 h), Halikarnassos. Laureate head of Apollo facing three-quarters to right. Rev. ΠIΞΩΔAΡOΥ Zeus Labraundos standing right, holding long scepter in his left hand and double-axe in his right. Pixodarus 29. SNG Copenhagen 596-7. SNG von Aulock 2375-6. Beautifully toned. Struck from somewhat worn dies and with traces of overstriking (?) on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
