Maximianus, first reign, 286-305. Follis (Silvered bronze, 28 mm, 10.56 g, 6 h), Treveri, circa 298-299. IMP MAXIMIANVS P F AVG Laureate, helmeted and cuirassed bust of Maximianus to left, holding spear over his right shoulder and round shield in his left hand. Rev. GENIO POPV-LI ROMANI / B / ✱ / TR The Genius of the Roman people, nude but for chlamys, standing front, head to left, wearing kalathos and holding patera in his right hand and cornucopiae in his left. RIC -. Extremely rare and with a particularly impressive bust type. Struck from a somewhat worn obverse die, otherwise, good very fine.
