Constantine II, as Caesar, 316-337. Follis (Silvered bronze, 15 mm, 1.19 g, 7 h), a contemporary imitation of an issue from Treveri, after 335. CONLIHHTINVS IVN NODI Pearl-diademed and cuirassed bust of Constantine II to right. Rev. Two soldiers standing facing each other, each holding inverted spear in his outer hand and placing his inner on shield set on ground; between them, vexillum; above X; around, traces of blundered legend; in exergue, •THS•. Cf. RIC 586 (for prototype). A charming imitation of particularly crude style. Extremely fine.
