PHOENICIA. Tyre. 126/5 BC-AD 65/6. Half Shekel (Silver, 19 mm, 7.12 g, 1 h), uncertain date. Laureate head of Melkart to right, lion skin tied around neck. Rev. TYPOY IEPAΣ KAI AΣYΛOY Eagle standing left on prow with palm frond behind; in field to left, date above club; in field to right, monogram; between the eagle's legs, Punic letter. HGC 10, 358. Nicely toned. Struck from a somewhat worn obverse die, otherwise, very fine.
