Dirham (Silver, 26 mm, 3.00 g, 9 h), AH 193-218 / AD 809-833, citing al-Fadl, the vizier of the Caliph al-Ma'mun, and the prefect Isma'il, Naysabur, AH 196 = AD 811/2. Signed on outer margin of the obverse by the prefect Isma'il. SICA III, 2023. Minor marks, otherwise, very fine.

This coin was struck during the civil war between Al-Amin and Al-Mamun, the two sons of Harun al-Rashid. The war ended with the conquest of Madinat al-Salam by Al-Ma'mun and the execution of his brother, which was carried out on the 27th September 813.
