LUCANIA. Metapontion. Circa 400-340 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 21 mm, 7.53 g, 7 h). Head of Demeter to right, her hair bound in sphendone. Rev. [M]ETAΠΟΝ Barley ear with leaf to right; above leaf, laurel leaf. HN Italy 1544. Noe 494. Beautifully toned. Minor marks on the obverse, otherwise, very fine.
