Maximinus I, 235-238. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 2.90 g, 1 h), Rome, 236-237. MAXIMINVS PIVS AVG GERM Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Maximinus I to right, seen from behind. Rev. PROVIDENTIA AVG Providentia standing front, head to left, holding wand over globe in her right hand and cornucopiae in her left. BMC 171. Cohen 75. RIC 20. A beautifully toned example with a fine portrait. Struck from slightly worn dies, otherwise, virtually as struck.
