LUCANIA. Herakleia. Circa 330/25-281 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 21 mm, 7.92 g, 10 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet adorned with Skylla hurling a stone on the bowl. Rev. HPAKΛHIΩN Herakles standing facing, holding club in his right hand and bow and arrow in his left; lion skin draped over his left arm; to upper left, Nike flying right to crown the hero; to left, [Ε]ΥΦ; to right, Σ. HN Italy 1383. Van Keuren 81. Struck from somewhat worn dies, otherwise, very fine.
