KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 17 mm, 4.14 g, 12 h), Miletos, struck under Philoxenos, circa 325-323. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔP[OY] Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, thunderbolt; below throne, monogram. Price 2088. Nicely toned. Light scratch on Herakles' cheek, otherwise, very fine.
