MYSIA. Pergamon. Circa 166-67 BC. Cistophorus (Silver, 26 mm, 12.13 g, 12 h), circa 76-67. Cista mystica from which snake coils; around, ivy wreath with fruits. Rev. Two snakes coiled around a bow case; between the snake heads, ΤΗ above monogram of ΠPY; to left, monogram of ΠΕΡΓ; to right, thyrsos entwined by a serpent. Kleiner 49. SNG Paris 1752. Beautifully toned. Very fine.
