KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 18 mm, 4.15 g, 12 h), Lampsakos, struck under Antigonos I Monophthalmos, circa 310-301. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, monogram of ΗΓ; below throne, monogram of MEΓ. Price -, cf. 1413 (slightly differing monogram in left field). Nicely toned. Light scratches and minor marks, otherwise, very fine.
