KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 38 mm, 16.67 g, 12 h), Temnos, circa 188-170. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; in field to left, two monograms above oinochoe within vine tendril. Price 1680. Very well centered on an exceptionally broad flan. A few light scratches, otherwise, very fine.
