KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 17.20 g, 6 h), Arados, struck under Menes or Laomedon, 324/3-320. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, kerykeion; below throne, monogram of AP. Price 3332. A few minor scratches on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
