KINGS OF MACEDON. Demetrios I Poliorketes, 306-283 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 29 mm, 17.01 g, 1 h), Salamis, circa 300-295. Nike, blowing a trumpet and holding a stylis, standing to left on a left-facing prow. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - ΔHMHTΡIOΥ Poseidon, nude but for wreath of reeds and a chlamys draped over his left arm, striding left, hurling trident from his upraised right hand; to left, monogram of HPA; to right, monogram of ΠΑ. Newell 15. SNG München -. A very rare variety. Minor marks, otherwise, about very fine.
