Hindu Medieval of India
Chalukyas of Kalyana (10-12 Century AD), Gold Navilachchu Are Haga (Half Fanam), uninscribed and unattributed, Obv: stylized representation of Peacock (Navilu) facing left in profile, Rev: bloomed eight-petalled Lotus, 0.15g, 4.82mm, about extremely fine, Exceedingly Rare.

Note: The Kudatini inscription of Chalukya King Tribhuvanamalla, dated 1098AD refers to the conversion of Lokki coins into peacock coins by a goldsmith named Savimoja who had to pay annually 12 Gadyanas to the temple of Svamideva out of the profit from making Navilachchina Pon (Peacock symbol Hon). It is plausible that this is a fractional coin of a similar type of Hons, these coins might have been minted at Naviluru Mint (Ref: Govindraya Prabhu, Navilachchu coins, Nanyadarshini Journal).

Since this coin is struck on a scyphate flan, it is plausible that it might be an earlier issue!
