Attica, Athens (c. 454-404 BC), AR Tetradrachm, 17.19g, helmeted head of Athena right, rev. AOE, Owl standing right, head facing, olive sprig and berry in upper left field, all within incuse square (Kroll 8; HGC 4, 1597), obverse struck slightly off centre and a small flan crack at 1 o'clock, otherwise in superb high relief with attractive old cabinet tone, almost extremely fine.
