Malta, The Knights of St. John, Giovanni-Paolo Lascaris di Ventimiglia e Castellar, 57th Grand Master (1636-57), AE 4-Tari, weight? 3h, bearing the countermarks of four subsequent Grand Masters, i) crowned star of six-points [Ramon Despuig, 67th, stamp instituted: 13 Dec. 1740]; ii) MA monogram [Manuel Pinto, 68th, stamp instituted: 30 May 1766]; iii) crowned lozenge [Emmanuel de Rohan-Polhuc, 70th, stamp instituted: 19 Jun. 1777 and 10 Jan. 1778]; another, paschal lamb [stamp instituted 17 Jul. 1792 and 29 Oct. 1792] (Restelli & Sammut 50-60), concave appearance, one countermark causing a flan perforation, the host coin good, the countermarks fine or better.
