Cape Verde Banco de Cabo Verde SPECIMEN notes of the 20th January 1977 "Cabral" issues punch-hole cancelled and serial numbers A/1 000000 (2) both in crisp about UNC - UNC and very Scarce comprising 100 Escudos SPECIMEN number 083 Pick 54s3 SPECIMEN in red diagonally on obverse and reverse and "SPECIMEN OF NO VALUE" imprinted in upper left margin on obverse and reverse. Together with the 500 Escudos SPECIMEN number 0912 Pick 55s1 ESPECIMEN in red diagonally on obverse and reverse. A fascinating pair of these not often seen Specimen notes. The 100 Escudos in red displaying "Cimboa" (one-stringed fiddle) & Amilcar Cabral on obverse and an illustration of Mount Cano (Fogo Island) on reverse. The 500 Escudos in blue featuring Shark & Amilcar Cabral on obverse and the reverse illustrating a view of Port of Mindelo (São Vicente).
