The 1 Riyal mainly in purple featuring Sultan Qaboos bin Said, coat of arms with crossed swords and khanjar (dagger), Al Alam palace in Muscat, khanjar as registration device on obverse. The reverse featuring flowers, desert white butterflies (Pontia glauconite), Sultan Qaboos University in Al Khoudh and 45th National Day logo. This note incorporates a 2-toned windowed security thread. And the 5 Riyal multi-coloured featuring Sultan Qaboos bin Sa'id, Sultan Qaboos University building with clock towermain entrance of the Central Bank of Oman headquarters (Muscat) on obverse. The reverse displaying Nizwa fort. Hybrid note featuring a polymer window and silver hologram at right.
