Bank of England a collection of 10 Shillings, 1 and 5 Pounds circa 1930's and World War II period to modern (69) including various cashiers as Peppiatt, Beale, O'Brien, Hollom, Fforde, Somerset, Page and Lowther most in an album, including few framed examples all in various grades on average VF - GVF to EF - GEF. Some scarcer examples consist of the rarely seen 5 Pounds Lowther B397 Experimental issues 2004 with examples of the 2 types (3) consisting of the Unvarnished type (2) serial numbers XC10 998415 and XC10 998415 along with the Varnished type serial number XJ36 997708. These notes Rare in any grade, very seldom seen in UNC in fact the current Duggleby prices these notes only to the EF grade with a price of £300, they were used to test durability and issued in tranches. 5 Pounds Beale White note B270 dated 3rd August 1950 serial number S21 081953. Peppiatt Fourth Period B262 Red-brown Britannia medallion Threaded issued 1948 a LAST series prefix 81E 133185 and a Second Period WW2 Emergency issue B249 Blue/Pink Britannia medallion Threaded issued 1940 serial number D02H 068980. 5 Pounds O'Brien Lion & Key (2) examples of the 2 varieties and both FIRST series prefixes consisting of the B277 Shaded symbol issued 1957 serial number A92 412879 and B280 White symbol issued 1961 serial number H38 000698. A very pleasing collection, certain to attract significant attention. Also comes with a novelty Bank of England 1,000,000 (the million-pound note) dated 1903 known from the 1954 J. Arthur rank studios film "The Million Pound Note" starring Gregory Peck. A Persil promotional 1 Pound Somerset packet. Also comes with an empty album
