MEXICO. Birth of Prince Ferdinand and the Corporation of Mines of New Spain Silver Proclamation Medal, 1785. Mexico City Mint. Charles III. PCGS MS-61 Gold Shield.
62 mm. Grove K-82A. By G. A. Gil. Obverse: Bust of the king right, facing conjoined busts of Charles (later Charles IV) and Maria Louisa with the infant Prince below. Reverse: Miners working near mine entrance as the rays of the sun illuminate the scene. An exceptionally engraved medal that appears from time to time in bronze, but is RARE and virtually never offered in silver. A few marks account for the grade, but considering the typical condition that these Mexican proclamations are found in, this example certainly qualifies as rather wholesome and attractive.

Estimate: $1000.00- $1500.00
