GAUL: Remi, cast potin (4.59g), D&T-155; de la Tour-8142, late to mid 1st century BC, figure running right, holding torque and spear // animal right, uncertain symbol above, VF. The Remi were a Belgic people of northeastern Gaul. This coin likely circulated around the time of Caesar's Gallic Wars (58-50 BC), during which the tribe did not join the rebellion of Vercingetorix and remained an ally of Rome.
