FARRUKHABAD: AE falus (11.94g), Farrukhabad, ND, KM-24, East India Company issue in the name of Muhmmad Akbar II, lovely patina, VF, R. In 1801, the Nawab of Awadh, Saadat Ali, ceded some territory to the British in return for protection against a threat of attack from the north-west by Zaman Shah Durrani, the grandson of Ahmad Shah Durrani. Being totally surronded by the territory of Awadh, the Nawab of Farrukhabad ceded Farrukhabad district to the British a year later. This type is known dated AH1226 (1811) and AH1223 (1818).
