George III. 1760-1820. AR Bank of England dollar. 26.57 gm. 41 mm. Overstamped on a Spanish dollar (faint indications of undertype visible). 1804. His first bust right; GEORGIUS III DEI GRATIA REX • ; C . H . K on truncation; (top leaf to upright of E in DEI) (Obverse A) / Britannia seated left, shield at her side, holding olive branch and spear, all within a garter with the legend FIVE SHILLINGS DOLLAR; K in relief under shield (Reverse 2). S. 3768. ESC 1925 (144). Good Extremely Fine; lustrous and lightly toned; a particularly strong strike on a Spanish dollar providing particularly fresh surfaces; slight hairlines in front of portrait.
