The Pavilion Collection, Commemorative Medals, George IV, Treen Medals: Accession 1820, the Rundell, Bridge and Rundell medal, a reduced impression in lignum vitae wood, laureate and draped bust turned to l., with classical armoured breast-plate, GEORGIVS IV DEI GRATIA BRITANNIARVM REX, wide border around 'medal', total diam. 69.5mm., flan 15mm. thick (cf. BHM.1010; cf. Eimer 1123); Coronation 1821, contemporary copy of an unofficial Coronation medal, impressed in wood, laureate bust l., rev. crown within wreath of roses, thistles and shamrocks, outer scrolled border, 41mm. (cf. BHM.1111 for type), both much as made, but second with traces of split, unusual souvenirs, extremely rare; Death 1830, black composite medal set in a black painted metal mount with loop, set with bright cut Whitby jet, laureate bust l, GEORGIUS IV DEI GRATIA, rev. willow by funerary urn on plinth marked '67', DIED BELOVED BY A GENEROUS NATION – JUNE 20 1830, 39.5mm., extremely fine and extremely rare (3)

The purpose of the first 'medal' is not clear, it has been professionally manufactured to a high standard. The second was probably intended to be attached to ribbons so as to be worn as a Coronation Day souvenir. The last, with its unrecorded reverse legend, does not copy any known medal.
