*first ex Leslie J. Carlisle Collection, Noble Numismatics Auction, Sydney, Australia, 24 November 2016, lot 3728; second and third bt. Kempton Antique Market, October, 2013 & October 2014 respectively.
The same image as that of the second, of similar size and shaped background, is found as the centerpiece of the handle of a yellow glass seal in the Royal Collection (RCIN 4217); the actual image there being a white sulphide on a blue background. It is likewise signed on the truncation, RB & R for Rundell, Bridge & Rundell, and perfectly matches the wax here offered. The Royal seal is described as, 'Yellow glass seal with gadrooned hexagonal handle with relief right profile portrait of George IV on blue ground. The reverse with classical combined Bacchic heads and ram. Uncut matrix. 78 x 39 x 15mm.'
