Edward IV first reign (1461-70), Halfgroats (4), Light Coinage, London, type VIIa, 1.49g, 8h, m.m. crown, crowned bust facing, in double-tressure of 9 arches, trefoils on cusps, except above crown, rev. long cross and pellets (Blunt & Whitton VIIa; N.1584; S.2016), striking split, otherwise fine; type VIIc, 1.37g, 5h, m.m. crown (half-concealed on rev.), as last, except trefoils by neck (Blunt & Whitton VIIc; N.1584; S.2018), fine; type VIIIa/VII, 1.23g, 7h, m.m. crown (half-concealed on rev.), quatrefoils by neck and on breast (Blunt & Whitton VIIIa/VII; N.1584; S.2016), surface roughness, about fine; and lastly, type X, saltires by neck, 1.26g, 5h, m.m. long cross fitchée/sun, saltires by neck, otherwise as before (Blunt & Whitton X; N.1584; S.2017), this somewhat flat, thus only fair, but an intriguing group (4).
