Edward IV first reign (1461-70), Halfgroats (6), Light Coinages, Canterbury, Archbishop Bourchier, 1.32g, 10h, m.m. pall (on obv. only), crowned bust facing, in double-tressure of 8 arches, fleurs on cusps, except above crown, no marks by neck, knot below bust, rev. as London types, except civitas cantor (DIG 2/6; N.1590; S.2025), on an oval flan, good fine; type Ba, 1.39g, 11h, m.m. pall (on obv. only), similar, except trefoils on cusps, and wedges by neck (S.2027), double-struck, fair; another, type Ba-b/Bd, 1.36g, 6h, m.m. [?]/sun, no marks by neck, trefoils on cusps above crown (Blunt & Whitton Vb/VIb; Delmé-Radcliffe 261, same dies; S.2025/2024), clipped small, fine; another, type Bb variety, 1.20g, 6h, m.m. pall (on obv. only) trefoils by neck, but not on cusps above crown (DIG obverse 17 and Greenhalgh III, 194, same obverse die; cf. Blunt & Whitton Vb; Stewartby -; S.2026A), clipped small, fine; type Bd, 1.32g, 3h, m.m. pall/sun, as last, but quatrefoils by neck (Blunt & Whitton Vb/VIb; N.1589; S.2024), chipped, a bold fine; lastly, type Ca, Canterbury, 1.58g, 8h, m.m. pall (on obv. only), reads edard, quatrefoils by neck (Blunt & Whitton VIb/VII; N.1589; S.2024), this toned, good fine, an interesting group (6).
