Edward III (1327-77), Quarter-Noble, fourth coinage, Transitional-Treaty Period, c. 1361, Tower, 1.90g, 12h, + edwar. dei.' grac.' rex: angl. d', double saltire stops, single after angl, Royal shield in double-tressure, trefoils on cusps, pellets in spandrels, rev. + exaltabitvr in glora [sic], double saltire stops, small cross pattée, annulets and leopards in angles, all in double-tressure, pellets in spandrels (cf. Baldwin 44, 2 May 2006, lot 748 same dies; cf. Schneider I, 70 [for obverse legend style] and 74/-; N.1224; S.1501), slight crease, but of a fuller flan, very fine, the reverse legend error unrepresented in the Schneider collection, rare thus.
