Charles I (1625-49), Shilling, 1644, Civil War issues, 'Declaration' types, Oxford, 5.55g, 8h, i.m. plume (on obv. only), (m.m.) carolvs • d • g• mag • br • fr • et • hi[ber re]x, crowned bust left, value behind, rev. relig pro | leg ang | lib par | 1644 | ox in five lines, single pellet stops (Morr. D-11; Brooker 945 this coin; N.2452; S.2977), a trace of double-striking, a slightly ragged edge between 9 and 11 o'clock, and a small surface flaw in reverse field, otherwise neatly cabinet toned, good fine, rare with a solid pedigree.
