James I (1603-25), Laurel, a contemporary forgery in gilt silver, in the style of third coinage, Tower, 7.40g, 10h, m.m. lis (?), (m.m.) iacobvs d. g. mag[.] bri: fra[] et hib: rex, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left, ties frame, xx behind, rev. faciaa meo in gentem vnam, square-topped shield over cross fourchée (cf. Schneider I, 86; cf. N.2114; cf. S.2638C), of good style with much residual gilding, once creased now straightened, fair to fine, unusual.
