Charles I (1625-49), Halfcrowns, contemporary forgeries from false dies, struck in silver (4), in the style of Group IV, Tower (under Parliament), 9.35g, 2h, m.m. (p) (cf. Brooker 356; cf. N.2214; cf. S.2779A), struck with broken and clogged dies, with a small edge chip at 2 o'clock, and scuffing to fields, otherwise fair to fine for issue; another, similar but in the style of transitional type 4/5, 14.82g, 4h, m.m. sun (Brooker -; cf. S.2779B), of full weight but of inherently crude style, fair and rare; another, 10.36g, 10h, m.m. illegible, colon stops on obv. legend, clipped small and double-struck, good; lastly, 9.77g, [?]h, crude truncated horseman, clipped small and legends unreadable, otherwise intriguing, fair and rare (4).
