Charles I (1625-49), Shilling, a contemporary forgery from false dies, struck in fine silver, in the style of Group E, Tower, 4.35g, 12h, m.m. tun, reads hib: rex, crude portrait left, xii behind, rev. christo • avspcie • regno [sic], square-topped shield over cross moline (cf. Sharp F1; Brooker 1199 this coin; cf. S.2794), small flan split at 12 o'clock, otherwise toned, good fine, the reverse better, rare with a solid pedigree.
