Commonwealth (1649-60), Halfcrown, a contemporary forgery from false dies, struck in base silver, '1655', 13.29g, 11h, m.m. sun (on obv. only) (cf. Tisbury III, Spink 253, 27 March 2018, lot 355; cf. N.2722; cf. S.3215), somewhat double-struck with resultant softness in parts, otherwise legible, strictly fair and very rare, the official issue of this date considered exceedingly so.
