Commonwealth (1649-60), Halfcrown, a contemporary forgery from false dies, struck in debased silver, '1660', 10.68g, 7h, m.m. anchor (on obv. only), reads commmmonwealth due to double-striking (cf. DNW 89, 29 September 2010, lot 2230; cf. N.2722; cf. S.3215), somewhat waterworn about fair, but very rare, the official issue of this date considered extremely so.
