Richard II (1377-99), Groat, Tower, type II/I mule, 4.43g, 3h, m.m. cross pattée, 'new' lettering, reads z franc, three pellets above crown, fleurs on cusps, double saltire stops, small a, lombardic ns, rev. d of london over higher d, double saltire stops, reverse-barred ns, bar above last (Potter IIa/I; N.1320b/1320a; S.1679/1678), minor edge chips at 3 and 9 o'clock, lightly clipped, otherwise good fine and not unattractive, very rare.
