Richard II (1377-99), Halfgroat, Tower, type II/IV mule, 2.10g, 8h, m.m. cross pattée, franc omitted, trefoils on cusps, small pellet above central fleur of crown, double saltire stops, lombardic ns, rev. double saltire stops, reverse-barred ns (DIG 1/2; Potter II-2/IIIB; N.1322/1323; S.1682/1683), some friction across face, but of fuller flan, neatly toned, a bold fine, extremely rare, only two known.

SCMB, January 1968, H1712 and pl. V [illus.] - 'Mules of types II/III, obv. Potter II2, rev. similar to IIIba but a new die. The counter mule (III/II) was published by W. J. W. Potter in his article in B.N.J. XXIX, 1959, so it is a coin, the existence of which has been anticipated, UNPUBLISHED. VF. - £90
