Struck circa 862-869. + EΛDMHD REX, large barred A / ·: EA•D•BERHT MO, cross pattée with pellets in quarters. The last Anglo-Saxon king of East Anglia, Eadmund was martyred by the Vikings in 869. Subsequently revered as a saint, a large coinage was issued in his name by Viking settlers in East Anglia, see lot 292
