SELEUKID EMPIRE. Antiochos III 'the Great'. 222-187 BC. AR Tetradrachm (30mm, 17.09 g, 1h). Seleukeia on the Tigris mint. Dies by the "Balaustion Master". Struck circa 204-197 BC. Diademed head right (Type Ci) / Apollo Delphios, testing arrow and placing hand on grounded bow, seated left on omphalos; to outer left, monogram above rose. SC 1165.1 (same dies as illustration); HGC 9, 447mm. Lightly toned, minor flan flaws. Good VF. Fine style.

SC notes that the dies for this issue were the work of the "Balaustion Master," who engraved dies for an issue of gold oktadrachms at Antioch on the Orontes (SC 1039 -- there noting this "exceptional tetradrachm" issue at Seleukeia on the Tigris).
