ITALY, Calabria, Tarentum (Taras), (380-355 B.C.), silver stater or nomos, HE group, Fischer-Bossert Group 36, (7.73 g), obv. naked horseman on standing horse to right, below **GH*, herm to right facing horse, rev. Phalanthos riding dolphin left, arm extended holding oenochoe in his extended left hand, below **TARAS*, (cf.S.341, Fischer-Bossert 564 [obv.V228, rev.R429], BMC 104, cf.Vl.408 [similar dies]). Toned, nearly very fine, scarce.
