SYRIA, Kingdom of, Demetrios I, (162-150 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.70 g), Antioch mint, issued year 162-155/4 B.C., obv. diademed head of Demetrios to right within laurel wreath border, rev. Tyche seated to left with leg of throne a winged monster, holds sceptre and cornucopiae, to right **BASILEWS, to left in two lines **DHMH TRIOU, monogram **HP* below throne, (S.7014, HGC 795f, SC 1638.2d, SNG Israel I (Spaer) 1258, SMA Newell 84, BMC 34). Attractively toned, good very fine and scarce.
