DCM, MSM, MID Group of Four: Distinguished Conduct Medal (GVR type 1); British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19 with MID; Army Meritorious Service Medal (type 1 with non-swivelling suspender). 3-6292 Sjt: A.H.Wheatley. 2/Leic: R. on first and last medals, 6292 Sjt. A.H.Wheatley. Leic. R. on second and third medals. All medals impressed. Original ribbons damaged or dirty, some contact marks, fine - very fine.

DCM: Supplement to LG 1/5/1918, p5313 to 3/6292 Sjt. A.H.Wheatley, Leic. R. (Leicester).

Citation: For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty when in command of the battalion signallers. When the telephone lines were cut he exposed himself to the enemy's fire with utter disregard of danger and sent messages with flag and heliograph.
