C.A.Biggsley was a member of the Sale Cycling Club. He was obviously a quality cyclist as in most of the handicap events in which he competed he started from scratch. Sergeant C.A. Biggesly was also Honorary Secretary of 2Bn Infantry Brigade. He was a recipient of a Brassey Medal in 1897 as a Corporal with 2Bn I.B. (Noble Numismatics Sale 54 Lot 4226). One of his sons, Lt H.A. 'Bertie' Biggsley was killed in action at Steel's Post, Gallipoli on 19 July 1915.
