Harold James Bayliss, moulder, age 21, born at West Bromwich, Staffordshire, England; Enl.01Oct1914 at Melbourne, Vic; Emb.22Dec1914; at Gallipoli Landing on 25Apr1915; WIA 30May1915 GSW head, Gallipoli; to Alexandria 06Jun1915 and then to hospital; RTA 15Aug1915 as result of wound to head; Disemb.09Sep1915 at Melbourne; Disch.02Feb1916 Medically Unfit.
On 25Jan1918 at Kinglake about 50km north-east of Melbourne, the Kinglake Honour Board was unveiled. At the same event two veterans were welcomed home, one being Pte Harold Bayliss, and they were both presented with gold tribute medals.
