Bahamas Bahamas Government 5 Pounds 1936 (ND 1944) Pick 12a PMG Choice Very Fine 35 EPQ. This is the scarce first issue of the King George VI 5 pounds and should not be confused with the later issue (Pick 12b) that is relatively common due to the discovery of a small run of uncirculated notes. An A/1 prefix and D.J. Stewart's title of Colonial Secretary Commissioner of Currency signature are seen at left on this variety. Later issue remove the Colonial Secretary portion of the title displaying Commissioner of Currency twice, at left and right. A well preserved and desirable example, especially with the Exceptional Paper Quality designation. From The Drs.
