Fiji Government of Fiji 20 Pounds 1.7.1954 Pick 57a PMG Very Fine 30. A rare high denomination issue that amazingly survived the weather conditions of the Fiji islands in this condition. At the time of cataloging, there are only three graded examples registered in the PMG Population Report, and none are graded above Very Fine. Printed by Bradbury Wilkinson & Company, this large size issue features a breathtaking portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wearing King George IV's state diadem. The intricate details of the guilloche designs, deep red inks, and striking patterns displayed are absolutely stunning on this high denomination note. Prefix C/1 and the signatures of Davidson, Donovan and Davis are present. Price realizations across the auction block include two recorded sales in 2017 at $21,840 for a Very Fine 20 and $22,579 for a Very Fine 35.
